Entries in all cattle classes must be made on or before Tuesday, September 24, 2024. The following regulations concerning the health of cattle to be shown at the Metcalfe Fair have been accepted and approved by the Metcalfe Fair Board. Any cattle other than those from a herd under quarantine are eligible to enter a show without restriction. A Livestock Superintendent will be present at all times to instruct exhibitors. All cattle must be unloaded and reloaded from the East End of all barns.
We look forward to hosting all past exhibitors and new exhibitors alike in 2024!
The Beef Committee will be serving complimentary coffee and donuts at 8:30 a.m.,
and lunch will be served at 12 noon to all registered beef exhibitors.
RULES
- No livestock will be allowed entry to the Fairgrounds unless they possess the approved (intact and undamaged) CFIA tag.
- All general rules which are applicable will apply.
- Entries can be made online at https://www.assistexpo.ca/metcalfefair, or by delivering to the Fair Office at 2821 8th Line Road, Metcalfe, ON K0A 2P0. All entries must be received by the Secretary on or before Tuesday, September 24h, 2024. Gate admission wristbands will be mailed for all entries received by September 24th. If entries received after that date, gate admission applies.
- A membership fee of $10.00 MUST accompany all entry forms, unless retained from last year's prize money.
- An administration fee of 20% will be deducted from the prize money.
- There is no restriction on multiple exhibits in any classes, excluding the Breeders Herd.
- All cattle must be registered and exhibitor must produce registration papers upon request.
- Judging of breeding classes to commence at 11 a.m. sharp, Sunday, October 6, 2024.
- Proof of liability insurance must be shown on the entry form and available upon request.
- Show will take place in the Hicks Insurance Show Pavilion. No animals are to be tied in that building.

** Champions must have shown in a breed class in order to qualify for Supreme Champion class.
- SUPREME CHAMPION FEMALE - $1,000.00 cash prize, donated by Petersen Custom Farming & DeKalb Seeds, plus trophy donated by Hawthorne Farms – Barry Stewart, in memory of the late Bert and Edith Stewart.
- SUPREME CHAMPION BULL - $1,000.00 cash prize, donated by Petersen Custom Farming & Maizex Seeds Inc., plus banner donated by McNeely & Zandbelt Families, in memory of Harold J. McNeely.
