General Rules and Regulations

Current American Quarter Horse Association Rules (AQHA) and Fair by-laws will govern all events except where specific rules stand.

Entries can be made online at https://www.assistexpo.ca/metcalfefair. All entries forms must be received by the Secretary on or before Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. Gate admission wristbands will be mailed for all entries received by September 24th. If entries received after that date, gate admission applies.

For acceptance to show, all entry forms must be filled out completely and signed by the exhibitor. No telephone entries will be accepted. ABSOLUTELY NO ENTRIES the day of the show.

Late/Post entries will be charged $3.00 per entry.

There are no entry fees for Western Games and Performance classes.

A $10.00 membership fee is required, unless retained from last year's prize money.

A 15% administrative fee will be deducted from any prize money amounting to $15.00 or more.

Gate admission and membership must be paid by exhibitors in all classes to enter the show; ages 5 and under gate admission is free.

  • All prize money will be mailed to competitors following the fair.
  • Peewee classes are for riders 13 years and under as of January 1, 2024.
  • Youth classes are age of 18 years or under as of January 1, 2024.
  • Helmets are mandatory for riders 18 years and under.
  • All participants must sign a hold harmless agreement. Agreements for ages 18 years and under must be signed by a parent or guardian.
  • All equipment must be with the animals as this will be the only vehicle allowed on the grounds.
  • Each exhibitor (rider) may show a MAXIMUM of two (2) horses per class.
  • All exhibitors must enclose with entry form a photocopy of insurance, policy number and proof of at least $2 million liability coverage or exhibitor will not be allowed to show.

Please note: Ribbons will be presented for 1st to 3rd place in Seniors and 1st to 5th in other divisions
